Seven ideal destinations for the honeymoon

Seven ideal destinations for the honeymoon
Spread the love

There are couples who plan every detail of the ceremony and / or wedding party for a year or more inclusive, and there are those who choose the clothes a few days before they go through the Civil Registry and organize a simple lunch only for the intimate. However, for each other – even those who are already living together and feel that nothing will change too much after “signing” – marriage often generates high levels of stress.

In addition to the post-celebration exhaustion, another common point for many couples is the prominent place they give to the honeymoon (in fact, in recent years began to include in the gift lists the item “money for the moon of honey”). Although not everyone can leave immediately after the “yes, I want”, most dream of sharing a few days in a special place. And like any trip, if you plan with a generous time frame, the price tends to be more accessible and you can go paying in installments.

Wholesale tour operators and travel agents agree that most newlyweds are looking for white sand beaches and warm, transparent waters, with good weather and hotels all inclusive. But there is also a percentage to consider that is inclined to visit European cities of infinite beauty – such as Venice and Paris – or to enjoy a mini vacation in a cozy cabin or in a nice hotel – if the services are high-end , better-, counting on the landscapes of the Argentine Patagonia like dream frame.

It is that, in the imaginary of many couples, the honeymoon continues being a synonym of rest in romantic scenarios. Here are seven proposals to keep in mind.

#1 Cancun and Playa del Carmen
In the state of Quintana Roo, in Mexico, Cancun does not disappoint those who do not want to be problem for nothing. There you will find hotels with all inclusive services with its beaches, international gastronomy and excursions. For example, Isla Mujeres is located directly in front of the Cancun hotel chain, which has an international airport (an advantage when it comes to transfers).

Always on the Caribbean Sea, there is also the convener Playa del Carmen. South of Cancun and near Cozumel Island (world mecca of diving, where you can get there by ferry), this city is distinguished by its colorful center, with restaurants, bars and hotels of different categories. Of course, there are plenty of all inclusive resorts in the area.

Excursions are numerous and varied throughout the Riviera Maya. Reefs and cenotes along the eastern part of the Yucatan peninsula, Xcaret Park, Xel-Ha and Mayan ruins of Tulum (unique oceanfront) and Coba, just to name a handful.

#2 Aruba
It is one of the most sought after destinations for weddings and honeymoons. The small island is located in the South Caribbean, away from the hurricane belt and with high temperatures throughout the year. Autonomous country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, it formed part of the Netherlands Antilles until 1986 and its inhabitants speak Dutch, Spanish, English and Papiamento.

With desert areas, caves, abundance of aloe vera plants and dream beaches, Aruba has very good tourist and commercial infrastructure, including international brand stores, restaurants, bars and casinos.

#3 Havana and Varadero
The capital of Cuba and the most famous seaside resort of the great Caribbean island make up the classic package that the agencies sell because it combines a couple of days to visit the beautiful colonial center of Havana and several days to rest on the beach in some of Varadero luxury hotels with all the included services.

Of course, there are also other offers, which combine stays in the keys María, Coco or Largo. More solitary and quiet.

#4 Costa do Sauípe
It is one of the most complete private tourist complexes in the Northeast of Brazil. Two hours from Salvador de Bahia, it comprises five hotels and several inns that work with the logic of a miniature city. There are plenty of swimming pools and activities such as golf and tennis, fishing on an artificial lake, kayaking, zip-lining, horseback riding or relaxing at the spa.

Shops, restaurants, bars, live shows and discos open until dawn complete the proposals of beach life all inclusive.

#5 Venice
What about the magical Venice, the city of Italy – and the planet – that all mortals want to visit at least once in life. With narrow narrow streets and canals, churches and palaces, bridges and squares, Venice is romantic and touching (although also, it must be said, it is very touristy and bustling at times).

A gondola ride, a visit to the historic Ducal Palace, a spritz in one of the emblematic cafes of Piazza San Marco and the stunning basilica are some of the unforgettable pleasures of every trip to Venice. And much more, if you arrive on honeymoon plan.

#6 French Polynesia
It is the postcard of paradise par excellence. Tahiti and its capital Papeete, with picturesque markets, typical dances and walks through the port; as well as Raiatea, Bora Bora and Moorea are the most famous and ideal islands to meet as a couple.

There are hotels that offer boat trips, romantic dinners on the beach and rooms with glazed floors, where you can see the marine fauna. That world can also be seen when swimming in calm and transparent waters, and when snorkeling or diving between coral reefs.

#7 Bariloche and Villa La Angostura
A good combination to enjoy the Argentinean Patagonia. In Río Negro, San Carlos de Bariloche offers all the comforts of a large tourist city with an excellent gastronomic circuit (smoked, trout, red fruits, chocolates and artisan beers are some of its strongest points). With beach days included in the summer (for example, in Playa Bonita, next to Lake Nahuel Huapi), you can make relaxed walks along the Circuito Chico, which links the Civic Center with Llao Llao, 23 km from the city, to sail in catamarán by the lakes Frías or Mascardi, to climb by cable car to the Cerro Catedral or to the hill Otto (the revolving confectionery of the summit is a classic) and to visit the island Victoria and the National Park Arrayanes (in Neuquén), through a boat trip from Puerto Pañuelo. For adventurers, the options of climbing, abseiling, trekking and mountain biking are inexhaustible.

In the case of a couple, it is recommended to rent a car to tour the area and reach Villa La Angostura, in Neuquén, more quiet and exclusive. From Villa La Angostura to the north (in the direction of San Martin de los Andes), route 234 runs the 100-kilometer stretch (of which about 20 kilometers are gravel and the rest is paved) of the spectacular Circuit of the Seven Lagos, which begins at Lake Correntoso and reaches the shore of Lake Lácar. A detour to the right from El Portezuelo allows you to reach – after completing 27 kilometers along a dirt and stones road – to Villa Traful, a beautiful village of cabins of logs that rises in the middle of the Andean forest, with sight to the lake Traful. For winter skiing or scheduled activities when it is hot between lakes of different hues, both Bariloche and Villa La Angostura offer the possibility of staying in a cozy log cabin or in an iconic hotel, such as Llao Llao or Correntoso.
