It’s time to talk about the OPPO F9 and F9 Pro, two new high-end phones that were presented in mid-August and introduce several interesting features.
Let’s go over everything we know about them, what their most striking features are and have an approximation of what the Chinese manufacturer is preparing us for the second half of the year.
‘Notch’ reduced and Gorilla Glass 6
The OPPO F9 would arrive with a screen of about 6.3 inches with LCD technology (or OLED for the Pro model) and a 19: 9 format to locate a ‘notch’ at the top. The company itself has already shown several promotional images on their social networks and we can see what their form will be. In this case, we have a notch with a similar design to the one introduced in the Essential Phone, although it is not as pronounced and has a small curve to the sides. From here I consider that this form is a success.
Inside the OPPO F9, we would find a MediaTek Helio P60 processor while the Pro version would have the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. A chipset that without reaching the flagship, it does offer a performance worthy of the high range.
Accompanying would have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that would be expandable by microSD. Some dimensions of 156.7 x 74 x 7.9mm have also been filtered, quite compact for a terminal of its size.
But without a doubt, the most striking thing is that the mobiles of this F series would be the first to arrive with Gorilla Glass 6, the latest crystal technology and capable of surviving up to fifteen times to falls of one meter. Without being confirmed, there is also talk of IP68 water resistance for the new Oppo F9.
Both John Bayne, VP of Corning, and Andy Wu, VP of OPPO, have confirmed that these OPPO F9 will be the first to adopt this technology. The colors have also been filtered, which would be red, blue and purple with a rear design formed by small rhombuses that give it a very striking appearance.
Quick charge VOOC Flash
Another very interesting point of OPPO phones is fast charging. There is the talk of a battery of 3,415 mAh but where we will also have the latest version of the VOOC Flash Charge, where we promise up to 2 hours of call autonomy in just five minutes of charging.
We do not know what percentage these figures represent, but it is true that fast charging technologies are starting to become increasingly effective. To date, this fast charge was reserved for the OPPO R-series, but for the first time, it would also reach the F-series.
25-megapixel rear and front dual camera
In the back, we would find a double camera with the main sensor of 16 megapixels, but the most striking would be in the front. In the hollow where we find the ‘notch’, we would add a 25-megapixel sensor with artificial intelligence, HDR mode, and 3D facial unlocking.
The OPPO F9 would be the continuation of a trend that has been confirmed for many months, one in which the front camera ends up having more interest than the back one.

Its price would be around Rs 30,000 in India. The Chinese manufacturer, unlike others from the same source, is not characterized by an aggressive pricing policy. On the contrary, its design is usually very successful and the technologies introduced are on the front line.
